Dear visitor, It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the website of Pegasus Pipes & Drums, a music band with professional charisma, thanks to a number of very skilful and enthusiastic pipers and drummers. On the next pages of this website you may get further acquainted with the band, its origins and history, and its various performances in the past few years. The band currently has 20 members, who meet and practice as a group every week. Apart from these weekly sessions, the pipers and drummers will need time to practice individually. Naturally, playing at a high standard demands time and effort, but is of course an enjoyable pastime. Our wish for the future is to enhance our musical skills and to grow in numbers, so new members are always welcome. It would be helpful for new members to have some experience in playing the bagpipe or drums, but this is by no means required. Beginning pipers and drummers will receive their training with the band. Both our Pipe Major (Dennis van Asselt) and our Drum Sergeant (Arjan van der Boon) are experienced instructors. We welcome requests to come and perform at any of your special celebrations. We perform regularly at birthday parties, weddings, anniversaries, funerals, or in fact for no particular reason, but just because listening to bagpipe music is a great joy. We also honor requests for lectures and presentations about this special type of music, its history and the instruments involved. In order for a band such as ours to purchase and maintain the costly musical instruments and uniforms, financial support is highly appreciated. Though you may have no ambition to become a playing member of our band, we would nevertheless be very grateful if you cared to consider making a donation or becoming a regular contributor. Enjoy browsing through the pages of this website. We look forward to hearing from you.
